It remains to be seen if the public is still loving the Colorado Buffs following their beat down in Oregon last week. Their game hosting USC has the Buffs as a -21.5 favorite again. Margin of Victory odds may be the way to go.
USC winning within the spread range pays $450 for every $100 bet. A win by between 1 and 12 points pays $700 to $725.
A shock upset win by Colorado by 1 to 6 points pays out $1400 for every $100 bet.
Coach Prime, also known as Deion Sanders, is calling it like he sees it after first loss of the season.
"Teams are trying to beat me," he said, as opposed to trying to beat his team.
"They keep forgetting I'm not playing anymore. I had a great career. I've got a gold jacket."
They'll take on Southern Cal Saturday at Noon ET on Fox.
USC Trojans
Southern California stumbled through its first road test but the defense stepped in to save the day in their game against Arizona State last week.
Then Caleb Williams stepped in. He threw for 322 yards and accounted for five touchdowns, Marshawn Lloyd ran for 154 yards and No. 5 Southern California outlasted Arizona State’s upset bid with a 42-28 win on Saturday night.
“I thought we stepped up in a tough environment there at the very end and played out best ball in the fourth quarter, which that’s what you’ve got to do,” USC coach Lincoln Riley said. “It certainly wasn’t our cleanest performance.”
The Trojans’ defense tightened while the offense stagnated.
Colorado Buffaloes
Bo Nix threw three touchdown passes and the No. 10 Ducks emphatically slammed the brakes on Deion Sanders’ “Cinderella story,” routing the 19th-ranked Buffaloes 42-6 on Saturday.
Sanders turned around a Colorado program that won just one game last year, bringing aboard 67 new scholarship players and opening the season with wins over TCU, Nebraska and last weekend’s double-overtime thriller against Colorado State.
“Good old-fashioned butt-kicking,” Sanders said afterward. “No excuses, no nothing.”
