What Happens to My Mets-Red Sox Bet With Game Resuming Today?

Many folks were affected by Friday night's rain out and subsequent suspension of the New York Mets vs. Boston Red Sox game.  This one is set to resume again at 2:15 pm ET.  Because it was stopped prior to 2:15 am ET, the 12-hour rule may apply at some books.

Others, like Unibet, count the wager right up until 72 hours.  For still other sportsbooks, it's 36 hours.  Therefore most of these bets will stand, at least as far as the moneyline goes.

The scenario gets even more complicated as many bets are counted as action based on who the starting pitchers are.

The Red Sox led 3-0 until the Mets received two-run home runs from Brandon Nimmo and Daniel Vogelbach, bringing the score to 4-3 at the time of the suspension in the 4th inning.

Both home runs came against Red Sox starting pitcher Kutter Crawford, who surrendered four hits in four innings. He struck out two and didn't walk a batter.

New York starter Kodai Senga gave up three runs and three hits, struck out three and walked one in 3 1/3 innings.

At BetOnline, moneyline wagers are considered official after 5 (five) innings; or 4.5 innings if the home team is winning. If a game is called or suspended before 9 innings (or 8.5 innings if the Home team wins) are complete, the score at the end of the last completed inning will be considered final.  In the case of the Mets-Red Sox game, this one failed to get beyond the 4th inning and the road team was ahead.

Regular Season Games must be played on scheduled date and site. If a game is rescheduled all bets are cancelled.

Totals, prop bets and other wagers that require a full game to play out are usually voided. Sometimes sportsbooks do count overs or inning bets since those can hit before the postponement happens. Make sure to check the house rules before placing your bets to confirm this.

In terms of series wagers, at BetOnline, all bets on baseball series are based on the first three games played of each series. All three games must be played on the specified dates otherwise series wagers will be no action.
