Gambling911 Confirms Report of Casino Executive's Departure

LAS VEGAS — Gambling 911 has confirmed a report that a high-ranking casino executive who may be linked to an illegal bookmaking operation is out of a job.

R.J. Cipriani, a high-stakes gambler who became an FBI source - he prefers "advocate" - and helped bring down a multi-million dollar drug ring, tweeted Friday that Jeremiah Chambers, a senior director for customer development at the Cosmopolitan casino here, had been fired for his connection to illegal bookie Wayne Nix.

Nix is a former minor league baseball player who pled guilty last year to Federal charges that he helped run an illegal sports betting operation based in Costa Rica.

Cipriani, whose Twitter handle is Robin Hood 702, had tweeted: “Another MGM player development exec to be fired, due to Wayne Nix bookie scandal, is Jeremiah Chambers...MGM Is keeping a very tight lid on this.”

MGM is the parent company of the Cosmopolitan.

Gambling 911 on Monday contacted the Cosmopolitan in an effort to interview Chambers and was told, “He no longer works here.”

Asked when he departed, Gambling 911 was told, “He left two weeks ago.”

Although Gambling 911 was able to confirm that Chambers has left the company, it was not able to confirm the reason for his departure.

Chambers has not been charged with any crimes in connection with Nix and his illegal bookmaking operation.
