New Jersey Nets

Heading into the All-Star Break, The New Jersey Nets have a paltry four wins on the season.  As a result of such a horrendous record, oddsmakers at Sportsbook.com have responded by offering the following proposition "New Jersey Nets Total Regular Season Wins in 2010" where the number has been set at 8.5.

Sportsbook.com spokesman Dave Staley stated that "One of the reasons our oddsmakers have decided to use 8.5 as the number for this particular prop, is that the record for the most losses in a NBA regular season is 9 by the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers. Obviously, if the ‘under' covers, that means the record is theirs"

Staley added that  "New Jersey is going to be in a tough position to avoid the most losses in NBA history. Yes it's true we are at what many consider the halfway point in the season, the all-star break. But keep in mind that New Jersey has played 52 games, just a little more than 60 percent of the season.  The key stretch for the Nets to try and avoid the embarrassment of having the most regular season losses will be in the middle of March, where New Jersey hosts 7 of the last 9 games of the month."
