While we have one capper on Colorado and two others on the Under 8.5, the Pittsburgh Pirates are emerging as a slight consensus play on Monday.   Legendary handicapper Al McMordie is among those backing the Pirates this day.

Pittsburgh comes in as a bit of a pricey -170 home favorite with Mitch Keller starting for the Pirates and Kyle Freeland for Colorado.

The Pirates are among the biggest surprises early on this MLB season with their 20-15 record, however, they are currently on a seven game slide.

Colorado might be just what the doctor ordered as they have won a mere fourteen games this season thus far.

The Pirates batters have been superb against Freeland, going 21 for 69 at bats. Carlos Santana though is 0 for 6.

Freeland went five scoreless innings on Wednesday in a win over the Brewers and before that had a quality start.

Keller is 3-1 with a 3.32 ERA.  He was charged with five runs (one earned) over five innings against the Rays on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, the Rockies batters have been pretty good against him historically.   They are 18 of 57 (.316) but do only have one home run against him courtesy of Mike Moustakas.  He's 5 for 12 against Keller but is hitting .240 this season.

The Rockies are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings but are 6-1 in their last 7 overall.  Those were against solid teams at home: The Mets and Brewers. The Rockies are 5-1 in their last 6 when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.

The Pirates are 9-1 in their last 10 vs. a team with a losing record.
