Lakers in 6?

(April 28, 2023) - LA comes into Game 6 as a -4.5 favorite at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Memphis truly had their backs up against the wall in the last meeting down 1-3 but managing to stay alive with a 116-99 home victory over the Lakers on Wednesday.

Lebron James had his worst game of the series in Game 5 with 15 points on 5-of-17 shooting and missed all five of his attempts.

Memphis is 0-4 against the Lakers in Southern California this season entering Friday's Game 6.  The Grizzlies are 4-10 Against The Spread in their last 14 Conference Quarterfinals games.

Grizzlies are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.

The Lakers are 5-1 Against The Spread in their last 6 games following a ATS loss.

Grizzlies-Lakers Game 5

The Lakers' 3-1 series lead was achieved with a 117-111 overtime home win on Monday night.  The line on Wednesday night's game was set at Memphis -4.5.

Lebron James had 22 points and 20 rebounds for the first 20-20 outing of his 19-year NBA career.

He also had seven assists and two blocked shots for the seventh-seeded Lakers.

"I've done some pretty cool things in my career. I've never had 20 and 20 before," James said. "So, that's pretty cool, I guess."

James is averaging 24 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and 1.8 blocks during the series with 21 his lowest output.

Desmond Bane scored 36 points and Ja Morant added 19 for the second-seeded Grizzlies.

"At this point in the season, it's win or go home, so we got to regroup," Memphis backup point guard Tyus Jones said. "Can't feel sorry for ourselves. Can be frustrated, but at the same time, you got to fix it."

Grizzlies-Lakers Game 3

(April 22, 2023) - With Ja Morant still listed as day-to-day for Memphis, the Lakers come into Game 3 as a -4.5 favorite.

Morant's injured right hand is improving but he remains a game time decision.

Memphis still managed to even things out on Wednesday with a 103-93 at home.

"They have proven in the last two years that they play really good basketball with or without him," Lakers guard Austin Reaves said. "So we knew it was going to be a challenge. They were desperate and they played harder than us."

The Grizzlies though are just 1-7-1 Against The Spread in their last 9 games following a ATS win.

The Under is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings.

Lakers-Grizzlies Game 2

This line opened at Memphis -2.5 and has since moved down to a PICK'EM. Ja Morant reinjured his right hand during Sunday's 128-112 setback to the Lakers and was in a great deal of pain afterward and he is listed as day-to-day.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham said Tuesday that the uncertainty of Morant's status won't hinder his club's preparations.

"I mean, we just prepare as if he's playing," Ham said. "We don't try to assume anything or try to make any predictions. We just make sure we cover Plan A, Plan B. Plan A, he plays. Plan B, what type of adjustments they'll make."

LA won big against the Grizzlies in Game 1, 128-112.
