Bet on Whether the Giants and Jets Both Finish the Season Over .500 in 2022

The New York Giants have been one of the hottest teams in the NFL to start the 2022 season and the Jets are a respectable 3-2 coming into Week 6.  But the oddsmakers remain unimpressed.  BetOnline released odds on whether both the Jets and Giants finish above the .500 mark in 2022 and the NO is a favorite at -900.  If it happens, the payout is $50 for every $10 bet.

The Sagarin power ratings still have the Giants at No. 23 out of 32 and the Jets at No. 25.

The 4-1 Giants in their best start since 2009 stunned Green Bay last Sunday in their international debut.

The Giants, facing off against Green Bay in London, scored 17 unanswered points in the second half as quarterback Daniel Jones.  He was playing on a sprained ankle no less and led three scoring drives to erase a 20-10 deficit.

"Give New York all the credit. They outcoached us, they outplayed us," Packers coach Matt LaFleur said. "They definitely wanted it more. It was the tale of two halves. They kicked our butt in the second half. You can't do that in this league."

Jones completed 21-of-27 passes for 217 yards.  Saquon Barkley, who injured his shoulder but is expected to play in Sunday's game against Baltimore, rushed 13 times for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Some good news for the Giants as their punter, P Jamie Gillan, was reportedly able to fly back from London Wednesday after being prevented from leaving due to passport issues.

The Giants only had four wins in 2021.

More shocking perhaps is the Jets quiet winning record coming into Week 6.

They've had wins against Miami at home and both Pittsburgh and Cleveland on the road.

The Jets also must face Green Bay a week after that team was embarassed by the Giants.  Not exactly the most enviable position to be in.

The Jets scored three touchdowns in the fourth quarter to beat the Dolphins 40-17 in Week 5.  Miami was without its star quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, due to the league's concussion protocol.

The Jets quarterback, Zach Wilson, completed 14 of 21 passing for 210 yards and had one rushing touchdown and no turnovers.

“I thought he was good,” Jets head coach Robert Saleh offered. “We didn’t turn the ball over. I thought he made big throws when he needed to make them. I thought our run game really picked up, especially in the second quarter. I thought he did exactly what he needed to do to win a football game.”

Matt Musico notes it's been nearly a decade since both the Jets and Giants ended the season with winning records.

The last time it happened was in 2010. The Jets finished 11-5 and made the playoffs, while the Giants were 10-6 and missed the playoffs.
