NFL 2022 Week 4 Early Action Heavy on Texans & Cardinals

Dave Mason of BetOnline advises that action was heavy on the Texans and Cardinals early for Week 4 NFL.  Mason breaks down the action coming into BetOnline below.

We also take a look at line movements for key games hovering around the 3 and 7 and the overlays and underlays.

Vikings Saints

The line on this game has moved from -2.5 to -3.5 favoring Minnesota.

We get a number of Vikings 2.06.  Thus this number is on the money to a 1.5 overlay.

Jaguars Eagles

The line has moved between Eagles -6.5 and -7.  We get a number of 6.08, which is on the money.

LA Chargers Texans

Chargers have gone from a -4.5 to -6 point favorite.

We get a number of 8.41, indicating an underlay of 2.5 to 4.

The dog has covered in all four games that have hovered below 6 (4.5 to 6).

Houston is yet to have a failed cover and they are probably due as is the favorite to cover within this range.

Titans Colts

The line on this game has moved from -3 to -3.5 favoring Indianapolis.

We get a number that is right on the money: 3.25.

Commanders Cowboys

The Commanders vs. Cowboys line was coming in at Dallas -3 and briefly moving to -3.5 at some books.

We get a number of 7.05, indicating a 3.5 to 4 point underlay with the line.

Bears Giants

The line has moved from Giants -3 to -3.5.  We were seeing a few books hit the -2.5, DraftKings among them, but this was more of an outlier, at least as of Saturday overnight.

The number is right on the money at 3.25.

Seahawks Lions

The line on this game has moved from home team Detroit -6.5 to -3.5.

We get a number of 6.3 but it appears folks could not stomach betting the Lions at that number so oddsmakers brought it down.  The -6.5 was on the money and the Sunday morning line was a 3 point underlay.

Jets Steelers

The line has been pretty steady from Steelers -3 to -3.5 through the week.

6.57 is our number, therefore we have a 3 to 3.5 underlay.

Bills Ravens

The line has mostly moved from -4 to -3.

There is a bit of an overlay - 1 to 2 points to be exact - as we come up with a number of Bills 2.18 after a review of the Sagarin power ratings.

A good comparable for this game includes Indianapolis -4 to -3 vs. Jacksonville a few weeks back whereby the home dog Jacksonville covered an d won.  This game featured a slightly larger overlay of between 3 and 4 points.

Patriots Packers

This line has been shifting between 9.5, 10 and 10.5 throughout the week.

7.55 is the magic number, thus indicating a 2 to 3 point overlay.

Broncos Raiders

Vegas went from a -1 to -2.5 favorite.

We get a number of Denver 1.55.  The wrong team is favored and there is up to a 4-point overlay.

The wrong team favored so far in the NFL this season has gone actual favorites 0-2 this season using our sample of teams with lines a half point of 3, 7 and 10.

Las Vegas has dominated this series, going 6-1 over the last seven meetings.

The Broncos are too much of a temptation here.
