As we have entered the new NFL season, the offshore betting landscape looks a little different than it did back in 2018.

The Supreme Court's decision to strike down the federal ban on sports betting that year has resulted in a wave of legalization across the country over the past four years, and that is sure to have an impact on the way people bet on sports.

The legalization of sports betting has been a hotly debated topic for many years prior to the Supreme Court ruling.

There are pros and cons to the idea, and no clear consensus has been reached.  The states continue to rake in plenty of tax money but none of the state-regulated sportsbooks have turned a profit until this summer, and FanDuel was the only one to do so.  On the other hand, offshore sportsbooks have been profitable for years. The Supreme Court ruling that struck down a federal law banning sports betting has changed the tide.

There are a number of reasons why legalization has been beneficial.

For one, it has created a new revenue stream for state and local governments.

Tax revenue from sports betting could be used to fund important programs or services.

Additionally, legalization would likely lead to an increase in tourism and economic activity surrounding sporting events.

Of course, there are also some potential drawbacks to consider.

Sports betting can be addictive and lead to problem gambling.  Additionally, there is always the potential for corruption and match-fixing.

At the end of the day, whether or not to legalize sports betting is a complex decision with no clear right or wrong answer.

It will be up to each individual state to decide what is best for them.

However, the 2018 Supreme Court ruling has opened up the possibility for continued widespread legalization in the near future.

So, what can we expect from offshore betting this year?

Here are a few things to keep an eye on:

1. More states will legalize sports betting - and that means more opportunities for offshore bettors.

2. Offshore bookmakers will adjust their offerings to accommodate the new legal landscape.

3. There will be more competition for bettors' dollars, as traditional online bookmakers and brick-and-mortar casinos enter the market.

4. Offshore bookmakers will continue to offer creative betting options such as live betting and prop bets.

5. The use of mobile devices for sports betting will increase, as bookmakers make it easier to bet on the go.

6. Bonuses and promotions will become more competitive, as bookmakers look to attract and retain customers.

7. Security and regulatory concerns will remain a top priority for offshore bookmakers and pay per head.

8. The emergence of legal sports betting in the US will have a ripple effect on the global betting market.

9. There will be more opportunities for arbitrage betting, as odds fluctuate in different markets.

10. The landscape of the offshore betting industry will continue to evolve, as new players enter the market and existing players adapt to
the changing environment.

Keep these things in mind as you look to place your bets this year.

Offshore bookmakers faced some challenges following the Supreme Court ruling, but they quickly adapted to offer bettors more opportunities than ever before.

With a little bit of research and a bit of luck, you can find plenty of profitable betting opportunities in the year ahead.
