The UCLA regular season wins total was set at 8.5 and priced at -115 for both the OVER and UNDER at BetOnline.
UCLA football coach Chip Kelly expressed high hopes for this season as his team's odds to win the Pac-12 were set at +900. Still, there are concerns over player losses during the offseason.
“We had six players drafted off of last year’s team, the most in the conference,” Kelly said. “(We) had another six players sign free agent contracts. So we have to replace 12 players that are now on NFL rosters.”
The good news is that UCLA does return some experienced players. Extra years of eligibility were granted courtesy of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kelly said quarterback Thompson-Robinson’s experience will help to bolster the Bruins while preparing him for the NFL.
“The amount of snaps he’s taken are invaluable,” Kelly said. “The chance that he had to come back and play another year, get some more snaps underneath his belt, I think is beneficial. I know when he made the decision to come back, we were all very excited.”

- There is no shortage of reinforcements from their recruiting class as well as a nice selection from the transfer portal.
- Rising sophomore defensive back Devin Kirkwood is likely to become one of the top cornerbacks in 2022.
- Cal might be dangerous, Washington should be better, and Stanford will likely be much stronger.
- Nonetheless, UCLA does have a favorable schedule that gives the OVER 8.5 an edge.
