Just eight runners line up in Monmouth Park’s feature race of the year, the Haskell Stakes, and as far as the early markets are concerned that can be reduced to just a pair with Jack Christopher and Taiba well clear of their rivals in both form and odds.
Jack Christopher heads the market at -135 after attracting plenty of sharp money following his opening line of +100. Taiba has been rather friendless so far, which is surprising given that he has rejoined Trainer Bob Baffert, who will surely be looking to get back amongst the big prizes after his sabbatical due to suspension.
We have matchups and props added for the Haskell, as well as fixed odds on the other four Stakes races from Monmouth Park on Saturday.
Also featured is the Coaching Club American Oaks from Saratoga where Kentucky Oaks winner and Preakness Stakes fourth-place finisher, Secret Oath, resumes her career by taking on four rivals, including Belmont Stakes second-place horse, Nest.
Secret Oath heads the market marginally at +110 while Nest is at +130, and the others having little apparent chance in the race.
