Hellmuth Seeks Bracelet No. 17 as Ten Still Standing in Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship

Phil Hellmuth is seeking his record 17th World Series of Poker bracelet.  He finished among the top 10 in the Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship and retuns to play on Thursday.  Hellmuth's last bracelet was won in last year's Event #31: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw.  Hellmuth is coming off a bout with Covid and had to sit out a few days.

Robert Cowen Wins PLO Bracelets in Back-to-Back Years

Following a short-lived heads-up duel with Dash Dudley, England's Robert Cowen is the winner of the 2022 WSOP Event #28: $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller.  This is his second bracelet won in PLO events in back-to-back years.

106 took part in the most expensive non-hold'em event on the WSOP schedule.  It required a $50,000 buy-in.  Cowen walked away with $1,393,816.

The win nearly doubles Cowen's live career all-time cashes.

Other notable final day competition included the likes of 2011 WSOP Player of the Year Ben Lamb as well as Veselin Karakitukov and Jared Bleznick.

When asked what it was like to win his second bracelet in PLO, Cowen responded: "It's the same, it is just PLO. It is obviously a lot tougher because everyone is gambling a lot more ... you can't really run anyone over.

"It's nice to close it out. The first one was very quiet. It was on a side table. There wasn't much around. So it's nice to get that experience this time," the 36-year-old added.
