Trump Indictment Odds Don't Move After Hearing, But will Pence Testify?

Disturbing videos and details were revealed Thursday evening on national television as the committee investigating the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol held its first live, public hearing.

Despite testimonies from Trump White House officials who said the former President did not want the attack to stop, the odds still don't suggest Donald Trump Sr. will face any punishment for his actions.

SportsBetting.ag, which offers a wide array of political odds markets, didn't adjust the odds on its proposition bet regarding whether or not Trump will receive a criminal indictment from Federal or State authorities in 2022 or 2023.

Odds of an indictment in 2022 or 2023 of Donald Trump immediately following the hearing were:

Yes:  2-1  (+200)

No:  1-3  (-300)

The above odds equate to a 33.3% implied probability Trump will face charges.

These odds were Yes: EVEN and No: -140 as of September 23, 2022.

The bookmaker has also created a prop bet for the chances of Mike Pence testifying publicly, which was yet to happen as of late September. The odds early in the summer did not support Pence getting on the stand, giving him just a 40.0% to do so, according to the “Yes” number’s implied probability.

Will Mike Pence testify publicly during insurrection committee hearing?

Yes:  3-2  (+150)

No:  1-2  (-200)

The hearings were set to resume in early October.
