Daniel Cates Alludes to Decade Long Dispute With Tom Dwan in Light of Recent Cheating Claims

In recent weeks, there has been a spate of controversies surrounding the world of poker, mostly tied to alleged cheating scandals.  Now enter poker pros Daniel "Jungleman" Cates and Tom "Durrrr" Dwan into the fray.

To be clear, this is a long standing dispute between the two players spanning more than a decade.

Coates is referencing the so-called Durrrr Challenge match between Dwan and Cates that took place over ten years ago.

With a $1.5million sidebet on the line, the notorious Black Friday online poker indictments resulted in a sort of "back out" clause for Dwan.

The match was never concluded.

“He’s been paying me penalties every two months lately,” Cates revealed a few years back, adding: “He wants me to point out he’s given me something like $700,000 or $800,000 basically in penalties since 2010.”
