Sweet 16 Map: Which States Are Rooting For Which Teams

The following Infomap provided by our friends at BetOnline shows who America is rooting for ahead of the Sweet 16:

The map is based on geotagged twitter data since Sunday evening, tracking the hashtag #Sweet16 and phrase "Sweet 16", as well as #FinalFour, and tracking the team most mentioned in each state with those hashtags and phrases. More than 80,000 tweets were tracked.

As you can see from the map, America is now rooting for Duke to win, likely because this is Mike Krzyzewski's last year coaching.

The state breakdown is as follows:

Duke - 20 states
Gonzaga - 8 states
Kansas - 5 states
Arizona - 2 states
Iowa State - 2 states
Providence - 2 states
St. Peter's - 2 states
Villanova - 1 state
Purdue - 1 state
Michigan - 1 state
North Carolina - 1 state
Miami - 1 state
Arkansas - 1 state
University of Houston - 1 state
Texas Tech - 1 state
UCLA - 1 state
