No More TwinSpires Website in Michigan

Sports betting in the US is exploding but with it comes competition and that seems to be what just killed the TwinSpires website in the state of Michigan.

Horse Racing Nation tweeted out the news on Thursday:

CDI CEO Bill Carstanjen says company is exiting online sports & casino wagering. ‘We will exit the [business to consumer] online wagering space. This isn’t the result we wanted, but it is the prudent next step. We remain excited about @Twinspires horse racing."

Michigan is one of only three US states that Gambling911.com has rated a perfect 10 for its sports betting offerings and regulatory structure.

TwinSpires has enjoyed success over the years as a provider of online horse betting but continues to struggle in the overall iGaming market with its 2020 purchase of BetAmerica.

The company will continue to offer an integrated sports betting and online casino platform in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and will offer sports and horse wagering in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana and Tennessee.
