Vegas Police Find Severed Head During Traffic Stop Near Rio Casino

Police discovered human remains in a pickup truck during an unrelated traffic stop in Las Vegas this past Thursday.

The driver, Eric Holland, 57, ran from officers and was tased during a traffic stop near the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

Police discovered coolers in the truck bed, which then led to a severed head inside one of the coolers.  Holland was immediately arrested.

Holland failed to appear during a scheduled court hearing in court on Christmas.

His next court appearance was set for today (Monday December 27) where he faces charges of murder.

The identity of the victim is not yet known.

Holland has prior arrests for embezzlement.
