Good news for online sportsbooks as College Bowl game betting traffic as well as NFL Playoffs betting traffic appear to be way up based on Gambling911.com stats.

Traffic on New Year's Day, which features several major College Bowl games, was up a whopping 67 percent over last year.  January 2 traffic was up 41 percent over last year.  January 3 traffic was up 39 percent over last year.  January 4 traffic was up 37 percent over last year.

"No matter how you look at this, more people are betting, more people are exposed to online sports wagering," says Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of Gambling911.com.

She acknowledges that there are more people accessing the site and searching for information on College Bowl games and the NFL Playoffs as a result of mobile technology, but believes that a percentage of the increase reflects a much larger betting population than last year.  "The online sportsbooks have much to look forward to this Super Bowl and March Madness season."

The BCS Championship game between Texas and Alabama takes place this coming Thursday.  It is the biggest College Bowl game and will be the single most bet on of the entire College Football season when all is said and done.
