Line on Sixers Game Drops to -1 With Embiid Out Due to Covid Positive

It's impobable to think that Tobias Harris, Isaiah Joe and Matisse Thybulle have all been out for the 76ers due to Covid and the team keeps on winning.  On Monday it was revealed that star Joel Embiid will be out as well due to a positive Covid-19 positive test.  Oddsmakers shaved 3.5 to 4.5 points off the line as a result, dropping this one down to Sixers -1.  Some books have made the Knicks a -1 point favorite.

NBC Sports is reporting that Monday night's game against the Knicks was supposed to be a planned rest day for Embiid, which seems odds considered how short-handed they are.

Without him, Andre Drummond figures to start and Paul Reed should continue to play key minutes. Other center options include Georges Niang and rookie Charles Bassey.

Embiid is likely to miss all of this week's games.

Sixers head coach Doc Rivers said last week Harris was doing "OK, but not great, honestly." The 29-year-old tweeted, "Every W is healing me" after tuning in for the team's sixth straight victory on Saturday night, a win over the Bulls in Chicago.

To clear the NBA's protocols, a player must either wait a minimum of 10 days or return two consecutive negative PCR COVID-19 tests at least 24 hours apart.
