The early line on the Kansas Jayhawks vs. Coastal Carolina game opened at Chanticleers -27.5, far greater than the -12 point spread we anticipated.  Find live odds here at BetOnline (maximum welcome bonus $1000).

Kansas scored late to beat South Dakota 17-14 in Lance Leipold's debut as head coach.

Wins have been so rare at Kansas over the last decade-plus that it wasn't too surprising when students spilled from the stands and rushed the field to celebrate this accomplishment.

But they face a ranked Coastal Carolina team that is certain to be far more formidable than South Dakota.

The Chanticleers blew out The Citadel 52-14 in their Week 1 opener.

Quarterback Grayson McCall threw for 262 yards and a touchdown and No. 22 Coastal Carolina scored on its first seven possessions.

Coastal Carolina was a -130 favorite to win OVER 10 regular season games in 2021. Grayson McCall pays out $10,000 on a $100 bet should he walk away with the Heisman Trophy in 2021-22. They were among the biggest success stories from last season.

“I do think the expectations are higher than last year,” McCall said. “My job is to come in each week and go 1-0. Try and stay away from that stuff and focus on the team.”
