The former US President Donald Trump has unloaded on Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, according to a new Michael Wolff book, "Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency".
Trump Lashes Out
- The book claims that Trump has been disappointed with Kavanaugh's votes since he was appointed to the Supreme Court.
- Kavanaugh was Trump's hand-picked nominee and underwent a contentious nomination process in which he was accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual misconduct while in high school.
- An FBI investigation could not find any wrongdoing on the part of Kavanaugh and he was eventually confirmed.
- In the book, Trump reportedly conveys that Kavanaugh "hasn’t had the courage you need to be a great justice."
- Another excerpt from the book: "Where would he be without me? I saved his life. He wouldn't even be in a law firm. Who would have had him? Nobody. Totally disgraced. Only I saved him."

BetOnline continues to list Trump as the favorite to win the Republican nomination in 2024.
At a CPAC gathering in Dallas over the weekend, Trump topped the list of roughly a dozen candidates that included him in an informal straw poll with 70%, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis - the second favorite to become the Republican nominee - won the support of 21% in the informal survey.
French Presidential Election – Predicted to be the Biggest Betting Market Since Biden vs. Trump
Following a busy spell of special elections in May and the New York Mayoral Primary, the focus of political bettors has now shifted towards the longer-term.
There are several important, national and international elections to come in 2021: Germany, Norway, UK by-elections, Boston and Seattle Mayoral contests.
None, however, are likely to compete with the bonanza awaiting in 2022. Next year will be dominated by the mid-term elections for Congress and several exciting Governor races.
Next May, there’s the French presidential election – predicted to be the biggest market since Biden vs. Trump. We’ve already taken more at BetOnline on this than those other global elections combined.
"The incumbent Emmanuel Macron is a big loser in our book and he’s a hot favorite at -140," BetOnline advises. "However given the drama seen at the last French election (Macron was +6600 at this stage), there’s plenty of hope for the chasing pack."
Just this week, Macron ordered that proof of vaccination would now be required in order to enter cafes, bars, concerts, fairs and other facilities in the country. This is commonly referred to as a "vaccine passport". It remains to be seen how this mandate resonates with the French people.
Expect a strong challenge from the far-right in Marine Le Pen, and whoever the mainstream Right and Left pick as their candidate. Those primaries will be taking place this summer.
"We’ll be covering them in due course," promised the BetOnline spokesperson.
"Regarding the US mid-terms, we’ve got odds on all the big Senate races and now the Governor races in Virginia and Georgia."
The Democrats are slight favorites for the latter at -140 but, for now, the bigger interest concerns the GOP candidate.
"Governor Brian Kemp is -225 to be their pick but, after alienating Trump supporters by certifying the election results, he could have trouble seeing off the Trumpian challenger, Vernon Jones – a +140 chance."
As with all matters regarding GOP division, watch this space.
