Why Bet The Pirates-Padres Series

The odds are good the Pirates will win at least one game in this series.  Pittsburgh is 8-2 in the last ten meetings.

But Pittsburgh is showing signs of stuggling following a decent start to the season.  They had only won four games out of their last ten heading into this series.  San Diego had won seven.

Monday night is especially up for consideration if looking to bet the Pirates.  Pittsburgh will have a proven starter Monday night in left-hander Tyler Anderson (2-2, 3.38 ERA) while the Padres will go with right-hander Miguel Diaz.  He hasn't pitched in the major leagues since before the 2019 All-Star break and hasn't started a game since 2017.

As of Monday, the Padres did not know who they were starting on Tuesday and beyond for this series.

Anderson owns a 4-2 career record against the Padres, with a 2.53 ERA in 10 appearances (nine starts).

Overall this season, Anderson has allowed 10 runs on 25 hits and eight walks with 26 strikeouts in 26 2/3 innings over five starts. But in his past three starts, Anderson has a 2.20 ERA over 16 1/3 innings.

The OVER is 14-6 in the last 21 games.  The Monday night game looks like it has OVER written all over it with the total coming in at 8.

The OVER 8 will be our play Monday night.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
