NBA Betting April 19 – Golden State Warriors at Philadelphia 76ers

He doesn’t have the supporting cast he had when the Golden State Warriors made it to five straight NBA Finals, but Stephen Curry is doing all he can to help his club return to the playoffs after a disastrous last season. Curry is the hottest player on the planet taking a stretch of 10 games with more than 30 points into Monday’s showdown with the Eastern Conference leading Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers earned a payout victory in the Bay Area last month and can extend their winning streak to five by completing the season sweep of the Dubs.  Bookmaker.eu offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1600).

Odds Analysis

The Warriors will attempt to rebound from a 119-114 loss at Boston at Saturday that ended their season-high four-game winning streak. They also failed to cover the closing 3-point line putting a string of four straight payouts to rest. Though they have wins over Denver and Milwaukee this month, the Warriors have struggled on the road. They dropped five straight road games until picking up victories at OKC and Cleveland to open a five-game road trip. They are just 11-19 SU and ATS away from Chase Center this season. Following home wins over Brooklyn and the Clippers that extended their winning streak to four now is not the time for the Sixers to get complacent. The Nets and Clips were both minus several starters and other key players. The Sixers failed to cover in both games and they are 4-7 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

Golden State Warriors

A play-in date is likely in the Warriors future, but they can still climb the ladder in the Western Conference and possibly avoid that scenario. Winning games on the road would be a big help in tracking down the No. 6 seed. If they get there it will be because of the play of Curry, who has been unconscious since returning from a bruised tailbone. In 10 games he’s scored at least 32 points every time and the Dubs are 6-4 SU and ATS. Even when teams know what’s coming they have a hard time defending the daggers Curry tosses up.

Curry tallied 47 points against the Celtics, surpassing 40 points for the fourth time in his current streak. He also dropped 53 on the Nuggets and 42 the next game against the Thunder making 21 three-pointers in the two games. He’s averaging 39.1 points over that stretch shooing 54.6 percent from the field and 48.6 percent from behind the arc. We will have to keep an eye on Curry’s status, though. He rolled his ankle in the Boston game and was visibly limping though he continued playing. With the status of the NBA’s scoring leader unknown at this time, we have yet to see an opening line surface.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers put the best home record in the Eastern Conference on the line in this matchup. They are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games at WFC with wins over the Nets and Clippers after an extended run of away games. And despite both those teams missing key players, the Sixers were unable to put them away. They needed a late surge to get past Brooklyn 123-117 in what was a game for the top spot in the East. The Nets played without James Harden, Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin. Facing another marquee team a few nights later the Sixers got past LA 106-103. The Clips were without Kawhi Leonard, Patrick Beverley and Serge Ibaka.

They went through a spell without the services of Joel Embiid, but since his return the Sixers are remarkably healthy. Tobias Harris and Dwight Howard missed the previous game and both are questionable to play on Monday, but the play of Embiid has more than made up for the absences. He scored 36 points against the Clippers, his third straight game with at least that many points. Embiid missed the first meeting between the clubs, a 108-98, Sixers cover last month.

Bet Warriors at 76ers at BookMaker.eu

The Warriors are in the middle of the pack for a reason. They’ve done an excellent job beating up lesser teams but have had problems knocking off the better squads. Their loss to Boston dropped them to 11-23 against team at or above .500. Even if Curry plays it’s hard to know how effective he’s going to be on a tender ankle. And the Warriors don’t have much to stop Embiid, so backing the home team looks like a smart play.

NBA Score Prediction: 76ers 117, Warriors 109
