The Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback threw 6 interceptions during the 2020 season and 5 the prior year. That's a far cry from his 12 thrown in 2018.
But Mahomes two interceptions in Super Bowl LIV were uncharacteristic for sure.
After playing it safe through most of the game, Mahomes turned the ball loose, attempting a downfield throw to wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and linebacker Fred Warner picked it off.
The interception was the first for Mahomes in 164 postseason pass attempts.
That was followed by another Mahomes pass bouncing off Hill's hands and into the arms of San Francisco safety Tarvarius Moore.
