As first reported by Gambling911.com, bank implementations for enforcing the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (UIGEA), are scheduled to be postponed for another 6 months with June 1, 2010 being the new target date.

Congressman Barney Frank was slated to make an official announcement shortly, quite possibly on Friday.  Frank is said to be furious over the leak, which arrived on Gambling911.com's desk Wednesday afternoon.  A media embargo had been placed on the story until Congressman Frank could release an official statement first.

Gambling911.com immediately published the story and other media sitting on it were prompted to do the same.

Gambling911.com does not withhold information from its readers and has filed motions against the US Government to ensure that readers stay notified of future developments concerning them (see Costigan Media (Gambling911 parent company) vs. US Attorney Office)

"This is not communist China," said Christopher Costigan, Publisher of the Gambling911.com website.  "We do not participate in so-called ‘press embargos' and hope that our colleagues do not either in the future."

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has now agreed to the delay.
