Authentic is the winner of this year's Kentucky Derby. He followed that up with another solid performance at the Preakness Stakes, finishing 2nd.
Authentic has no finished worse than second place in any of his seven starts.
He certainly has the potential to finish first again in this race.
“It wouldn’t surprise me at all,” trainer Bob Baffert said Thursday after Authentic, Improbable and Maximum Security galloped 1 ½m at Keeneland. “I wouldn’t be surprised by any of them.”
