The Clemson Tigers Trevor Lawrence will sit out Saturday's game against Boston College due to a positive Covid-19 test.  This has resulted in a full 8-point drop in the line.  Clemson remained a -23.5 favorite nonetheless.

More importantly, Lawrence's status for the following week's showdown at Notre Dame remains in question.  This game is expected to be one of the most highly anticipated of the 2020 college football season.

Lawrence tested Wednesday and received a positive result Thursday. He went into isolation Thursday upon receiving the positive test result, as mandated by the ACC's medical advisory group. He'll be required to isolate for 10 days from the onset of symptoms, which Lawrence has described as mild.  It is unclear when his 10-day clock starts.

The best-case scenario for Lawrence's return is if he began experiencing symptoms on Tuesday and that began his 10-day isolation clock.  This would allow him to potentially play on November 7.

The Tigers were as high as 30.5-point favorites for Saturday’s game versus Boston College at SportsBetting.com in Colorado, according to Scott Cooley of Cooley Media.  This has also impacted the College Football Championship odds, though Clemson is still a one-point favorite over Alabama to win.

Clemson +150
Alabama +250
Ohio State +300
Georgia +1200
Florida +2500
Michigan +3300
Notre Dame +4500
Texas A&M +5000
Wisconsin +6000
BYU +6600
Oklahoma State +8000
Oregon +8000

In terms of potential Heisman Trophy odds, Lawrence was around a -130 favorite as of Thursday, but those odds will remain closed until his playing status becomes clearer.
