FanDuel "Act of God" Clause Could Cancel College Football Futures

So what happens to those futures?

ESPN's David Purdum notes:

FanDuel has an "act of God" stipulation in its house rules that includes pandemics and allows the book to exercise its discretion in such situations. FanDuel, like several sportsbooks, was reviewing all options before making any decisions on how to grade any college football bets already placed. But right now there are more questions than answers.

Caesars Sportsbook's house rules stipulate that future bets on the winner are good just as long as the winner is declared in 2021, Bets on the Heisman Trophy winner will be honored as long as the award is presented before March 31 at Caesars.

There is the potential that some of the homeless teams like the Nebraska Cornhuskers could ultimately end up playing.

According to the Lincoln Journal Star, North Dakota State has reached out to Nebraska about playing this year. A spokesperson for NDSU said the school is looking to play up to three games this fall with one of those matchups being against an FBS opponent.

Another Big 10 school, Ohio State, has already confirmed it will not pursue playing outside the conference this fall.
