Bush, Powell Won't Support Trump

It was just a few days ago that our friends at BetOnline posted odds on former US Republican President George W. Bush endorsing former Vice President and current Democratic candidate for President Joe Biden.  We just got a little closer to that bet being graded a winner.

Bush has reportedly gone on record to say he will not be supporting the current President, Donald J. Trump, this according to  New York Times sources.

From ABC13 in Houston:

The paper said the former president and Texas governor won't vote for Trump's reelection and that his brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, "isn't sure how he'll vote." The paper spotlights several members of the Republican Party who are dissenting from party lines, though Bush was the only prominent Texas politician mentioned. Freddy Ford, a spokesman for Bush, told The Texas Tribune that Bush would steer clear of speaking publicly on his presidential vote and called The New York Times assertion false.

The New York Times also reported that Republican Utah Senator Mitt Romney won't vote for Trump either.

And former Republican Secretary of State Colin Powell made it abundantly clear he won't be voting for Trump.

"We have a Constitution. And we have to follow that Constitution. And the President has drifted away from it," Powell, a retired general who served under President George W. Bush, told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union."

"I'm very close to Joe Biden on a social matter and on a political matter. I worked with him for 35, 40 years, and he is now the candidate and I will be voting for him," Powell said.

Trump remained a +100 underdog to be re-elected over the weekend after falling from -140 just days earlier.  He is a much bigger 3/1 underdog to win the popular vote.
