The sporting universe may have come to a near-standstill over the past two months, but Stockholm-based affiliate Leadstar Media has not taken its foot off the gas and believes it is well-positioned to thrive as the schedule starts to fill up again.
In the past year, Leadstar has expanded into new markets including the US, Colombia, Peru, and also in Canada with one of the company’s flagship brands, MyBettingsites.com/ca.
While sports betting activity has been significantly lower, Leadstar has worked relentlessly to analyse and improve each of their projects, and CEO Eskil Kvarnström highlighted the importance of taking learnings from every situation and ensuring that motivation remains as high as ever.
“It’s great that various sporting organisations have found a safe way to resume competition. Among other businesses and industries, it will give iGaming a boost but more importantly give people all around the world something to look forward to,” said Kvarnström.
“For us, we have just been plugging away as usual - looking for new ways to refine our websites and always coming up with creative ideas for content and projects.
“You can’t make excuses. We are fortunate enough that we have been able to work remotely over the last couple of months and we are really pleased with the progress we have made across the board.”
The My Betting Sites Canada website went live at the end of 2019, and the brand is centred around providing information on the top bookmakers in the country, as well as compiling the best sign up offers and free bet promotions.
Canada is one of five countries featured on My Betting Sites, with India, Kenya, Nigeria, and the UK each having their own dedicated section.
With each market being at different stages in terms of maturity within online gambling, Kvarnström has been encouraged by the site’s development even without any significant sport for bettors to wager on.
“Of course, it’s better for us when the betting markets are active, but we still took massive steps forward on MyBettingSites throughout March and April,” he said.
“The team has been working on optimisation and enhancing the user experience, and that has already started to show.
“When we first came up with the idea of My Betting Sites, the aim was for it to become the go-to source of reliable information for sportsbooks all over the world, and we are getting closer to that target week by week. Hopefully, as more sports start to come back, that growth will accelerate further.”
The German government approved the Bundesliga’s plans to resume the football season in May, and with football being such a key sport in many of the markets Leadstar operates in, this could spark the beginning of an upward curve that rewards the affiliate’s hard work during the downtime.
Horse racing is also set to return in Germany, as well as France, while the UK could also be in line for a resumption of football and racing.
