Ayre Goes on Record: Squatters Never Took Over Bodog Founder's Home

The photos were disturbing to be sure.  Squatters had seemingly taken over the one-time mansion of Bodog founder Calvin Ayre.

It's not uncommon for this to happen in Costa Rica where Ayre resided at the time.  According to Costa Rican law, a person can acquire rights to a property if the property owner allows that person to use or maintain possession of the property for more than a year. ... If you have squatter problems you must act promptly, before the third month of the date the squatter moved in.

Lootie stole the hearts of Gambling911 readers back in 2009.  That's not all he stole

Once the site of extravagant parties, salacious hooker orgies and a high profile raid, the Bodog Compound was reportedly on the market for around $6 million back in 2009.

"I made a bid for $1 million and it was not accepted," one online gambling company operator told Gambling911 at the time.

But alas Ayre shot down the story more than ten years later.

Speaking with My Big Break Almost, Ayre tells all about starting the Bodog brand with a mere $10,000, going against those who told him it would never work (that being everyone at the time), and just a few years later appearing on the cover of Forbes Billionaire's issue.

It's a must listen to podcast so enjoy.
