Todd Gurley Joins the Falcons: Atlanta Super Bowl Odds Still Long

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a 1-year deal to sign three-time Pro Bowl running back Todd Gurley, a move that is sure to bolster that team's roster.  As of late Friday, the Falcons were listed at 66-1 odds to win the Super Bowl and 6-1 to win the NFC South.

From ESPN.com:

So with Fowler bolstering the pass rush and Gurley the run game, will it be enough for the Falcons to compete against Drew Brees and now Tom Brady in the NFC South? That remains unclear.

This is a critical year for Falcons coach Dan Quinn and general manager Thomas Dimitroff. They were spared from being fired after back-to-back 7-9 seasons because owner Arthur Blank was satisfied with the improvement in the second half of last season (Falcons were 6-2 over last eight games). But Blank is far from content with mediocrity. He said the playoffs “definitely" are the standard for this year’s version of the Falcons.

The value is great at 6-1 as Tom Brady signing with the Tampa Bay Bucs has resulted in that team moving to 2-1 odds to win the division and the New Orleans Saints favored at -125.
