Both Draftkings and PokerStars could be welcome in the state.  Retail sports betting is anticipated to kick off by March Madness.  Mobile wagering may not be available until the summer.

Fantasy sports was also legalized as a result of the new legislation being signed into law.

So far the only notable restrictions on sports betting is the age requirement of 21.  Offshore sportsbooks allow those 18 and up to bet online.  Some states already offering sports betting do not allow wagers on games featuring in-state schools while others restrict bets on certain college props.  Oregon does not allow online betting on any college games.  Still others require gamblers to register on-site at a retail gambling location (Iowa and Nevada).  Other states like Rhode Island prohibit parlay betting.

Taxes on internet gambling would range between 20 and 28 percent, depending on how much money a casino generates from online gambling - that’s an increase from the original proposal, which would have phased in a tax rate over time ending between 8 and 23 percent after five years.
