Can I Bet on Bovada From New Jersey?

Bovada prohibits customers from the state of New Jersey from playing on its site.  This is true of most offshore sports betting sites.  If you are visiting from New Jersey and have an address outside the state, you will still be able to access the site and place bets while there.  New Jersey does not block gambling sites that are unlicensed by the state.

New Jersey is extremely protective of its new industry, as well they should be.  After all, it is New Jersey that filed a complaint that made it all the way to the US Supreme Court and helped usher in the legalization of sports gambling nationwide.  Most US states must amend their own laws to allow the activity, not always an easy task.

New Jersey's sports betting market is a huge success.  Most wagering options are at one's finger tips.  There are a few drawbacks however.

Those living and visiting the Garden State will not be able to bet on games that feature state colleges.  Seton Hall typically makes a statement in college basketball each year.  The team has made the first round of the NCAA Tournament in three of the last four years and have advanced four years straight (one year making the second round).
