Apple recently issued new guidelines affecting gambling apps, set to go into effect the first week in September.  However, new PA apps must abide immediately.

The new guidelines state the following:

“HTML5 games distributed in apps may not provide access to real money gaming, lotteries, or charitable donations, and may not support digital commerce. This functionality is only appropriate for code that’s embedded in the binary and can be reviewed by Apple. This guideline is now enforced for new apps. Existing apps must follow this guideline by September 3, 2019.”

SugarHouse is now offering an apparent solution.  Customers are now prompted to download GeoComply’s GeoGuard app.  GeoComply is the company responsible for most geolocation solutions in the regulated US market.

By downlaoding the GeoGuard app, players can now access and place bets via the SugarHouse site using their browser.

Offshore sportsbooks have long been accessible to residents of Pennsylvania.
