This brings the total number of US states that offer - or will soon be offering - sports betting to 16, which includes the District of Columbia.

The new law will create a Division of Sports Wagering within the NH Lottery Commission.  Both retail and mobile betting will be available, although New Hampshire does not have any casino establishments. 15 licenses will be made available to prospective bidders — five retail and 10 online.  This process will not occur until January 2020.

Whereas most states require gamblers to be 21 or older, New Hampshire will permit those aged 18 and up.  Remote registration will be permitted.  Betting on state colleges will not be.
