Company CEO Matthew Maddox says the company is looking to continue expanding beyond the traditional gambling centres of Las Vegas and Macau.

He envisions opening resorts similar to Encore Boston Harbor in New York, Chicago and other major U.S. cities.

Maddox says the company’s next slate of projects includes expansions and overhauls to its flagship properties in Las Vegas and Macau. The company is also looking to build a casino in Japan.

Maddox spoke to The Associated Press prior to a series of tours of the 33-acre (13-hectare) site on Friday. The hotel, casino and entertainment complex in Everett, Massachusetts, opens Sunday.
