Throughout much of the season, the Nationals would have served as the perfect medicine to cure poor performance woes.  Washington, however, has managed to go 14-7 over their last 21 games with a big 15-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.

While he escaped with a win his last outing, Arrietta wasn't great.  If he does win versus Washington, expect a relapse in this next start.  This is due to control issues.

His ERA rose from 3.60 to 4.29 over his last two prior starts and, despite the recent win, that ERA actually crept up a bit more to 4.31.

Keep in mind that the Phillies are 9-19 in the last 28 meetings in Washington.  The Nats have also won seven of the last eleven meetings, all but one of those on the road.

Patrick Corbin (5-5, 4.11) will be starting for the Nationals.

Corbin is coming off three consecutive losses.    Previous to this poor performance, Corbin was able to pitch a shutout versus the Marlins.

Since that shutout against the Marlins on May 25 his ERA has ballooned from 2.85 to 4.11.

We look forward to reviewing the line and total movements for the Phillies-Nats game to provide us with a clearer picture of how this game could transpire.  Early indications are that Corbin should have a productive outing Monday.  Typically we would look for a line that favors Washington and drifts upwards.  The line should be nowhere near or above -160, making for a more competive betting opportunity Monday.

Note: This game could be affected by weather
