About This Series

Atlanta was high priced in the first game of this series at -180.  They are 6-1 in the last seven meetings.  It is likely anything priced under -160 could be a situation where the Marlins are more likely to win. It's the total that stands out here as eight of the last ten have resulted in seven or fewer runs.

Recent Performance

Atlanta has scored five or more runs in only three of their last ten overall, but they have permitted five or more runs in eight of their last ten.  Miami has scored eight or more runs in half of their last ten.  They have allowed more than four runs in only two over that span.

Friday June 7 Odds

The total is 7.5, trending down from 8.

Friday June 7 Starting Pitcher Matchup

PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Mike Soroka (6-1, 1.41 ERA) vs. Marlins RH Jose Urena (4-6, 4.14)

Soroka allowed more than one earned run for the first time in his win over Detroit on Saturday, yielding three in 6 2/3 innings. He has 17 strikeouts against one walk with 14 hits allowed in 20 2/3 innings over his last three outings. The 21-year-old held Miami to two unearned runs and three hits in seven dominant frames in the first matchup.

Urena has five straight quality starts and eight in his last nine outings, the one exception being the loss against Atlanta on May 3 in which he allowed five runs in six innings. He held San Diego to three runs and a season-low three hits in six innings his last time out. The 27-year-old is 2-7 with a 6.07 ERA in 15 games (12 starts) against the Braves.

Had one or both of these pitchers been coming off a loss or no-decision in their last outing, and especially over the last two outings, we would be all over the UNDER.  That's not the case here, so let's pass on a total play this night.
