If you plan on making picks on golfers outside the top of the pack, you're better off placing actual bets.  Case in point: Sergio Garcia would pay out $400 on a $10 bet, $4000 on a $100 bet.  Sure it's not a million dollars, but your odds of winning are better if you're really THAT good at picking golfers.

We also remind you that betting is available before and after each day's play.

Ownership of the favorites at this year's PGA Championship are priced as so: Brooks Koepka ($10,400), Dustin Johnson ($11,100) and Tiger Woods ($11,300).

Low owner players include the likes of Francesco Molinari ($9,700), Paul Casey ($8,300), even Jordan Spieth ($8,600).

From FanSided:

Priced as low as he has been in quite some time, Paul Casey has not been a popular name heading into this week’s PGA Championship. In a range where Tony Finau ($8,800), Phil Mickelson ($8,000), Bubba Watson ($8,000), and Sergio Garcia ($7,900) are all within $500, Casey should go overlooked.

He ranks eighth in the field in SG: Tee to Green, and is inside the top-35 in both Rough Proximity, and SG: Approach. Casey is also fourth on tour in Approached from the Rough 175-200 yards out.

Then there is Rory McIlroy.  The CBS Sportsline model was hot on him to perform well at the Players Championship and is currently priced at $10,900.  So too were the folks entering the last Draftkings Millionaire Maker contest.  McIlroy failed to crack the top 20 and the thought process here is that his ownership will be relatively low.

And that model has performed well:

SportsLine's prediction model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has nailed four majors entering the weekend and was all over Woods' deep run in last year's PGA Championship as a 25-1 long shot. The model projected him as a top contender even though he hadn't cracked the top 10 at this major in almost a decade. Whereas oddsmakers faded Woods, SportsLine was all-in.

The model has been spot-on early in the 2018-19 season. It was high on champion Rory McIlroy at the Players Championship, projecting him as one of the top two contenders from the start. It also correctly predicted Brooks Koepka's (9-1) victory at the CJ Cup. Additionally, it correctly called Bryson DeChambeau's (9-1) seven-shot victory at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Anyone who has followed the model is way up.

For the 2019 PGA Championship, it is high on Tony Finau.
