US-based online racebook TwinSpires confirmed Saturday night they will refund losing bets placed on Maximum Security up to $10.  Offshore mega book BetOnline revealed they will be grading all Maximum Security bets as "no action".

TwinSpires will not be applying their offer to exactas, trifectas, and Pick Three bets.

Maximum Security, who entered this year's Kentucky Derby as the 4-1 favorite the few hours prior to post time, was disqualified for interfering with other riders in the final turn.  As a result, Country House ultimately won tas the second biggest long shot in Kentucky Derby history.

The largest win bet reported by TwinSpires on Maximum Security was $8,000, which would have paid a net $36,000.  That individual will receive $10 back. The largest win bet on Country House, per TwinSpires, was $2,500. It paid a net $162,500.

Significant action came in on Maximum Security Saturday afternoon, prompting oddsmakers to install him as the new favorite.  Improbable and Game Winner entered the day as 6-1 co-favorites.

Maximum Security backers weren't exactly delighted with TwinSpires refund offer as many blamed the company for what they deemed to be a "bad call".  TwinSpires is owned by Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby.

One person tweeted:

"Can I get back the 3K the stewards cost me?"

Another tweeted:

"I;m (sic) sure some appreciate, but I cant involve myself in anything Churchill touches anymore. Moving on to TVG (the devil). Thank alot guys!"

And then there were these:

"Closing my account with TwinSpires !!"

"I want all my money back that I bet on him or I’m closing my account."

"If your refunding people money based on your call then that shows your second guessing your call in the first place... smh"
