Tax won the Withers and finished his next race second (the Wood Memorial).

Tax will run from the number 2 post position, which has yielded nine winners in Kentucky Derby history. Those winners include 1978 Triple Crown winner Affirmed.

Considered a closer, Tax will be ridden by Junior Alvarado and trained by Danny Gargan.
