Going on @VSiNLive @beatingthebook this morning at 7:00 am. I owe an explanation to my customers as to why I won’t be doing early first week of college football, season win totals and games of the year. I’m fighting a disease that won’t allow me to put in the effort necessary.

Andrews had to miss three weeks during the NFL season as a result of the disease known as Myelodysplastic syndromes or just MDS for short.  Myelodysplastic syndromes are a rare group of disorders in which your body no longer makes enough healthy blood cells.

Many of Andrews more than 27,000 Twitter followers offered their support.

Professional sports bettor Spanky tweeted back to Andrews following his announcement.

“An aggressive bookmaker is actually a conservative bookmaker” “Have the right number and don’t be afraid to take a bet” @andrewssports is a bookmaker’s bookmaker. He forgot what most will ever learn. One of the nicest and sharpest guys in the business. Get better my friend.

Sports betting consultant Tyler Wyatt tweeted:

Always look forward to reading Chris’ work.. as good a guy as there is in the business. Prayers, positive thoughts and cheers to beating it and coming back stronger than ever my friend.

Andrews spoke more about having to deal with MDS on VSNLive Monday.
