What We Like:

  • NA

What We Don't Like:

  • Limited recent head-to-head trends due to interleague play
  • Limited recent trend edges for both teams
  • High total in situation where both starters are coming off wins that followed poor outings
  • Last six Angels road games have gone UNDER the total
  • UNDER is 6-0 in Hamels' last 6 home starts

The Angels have won six straight and are coming off a three-game sweep of Milwaukee at home.

They come into Chicago as a +145 to +155 underdog versus the Cubs.

This one features a total of 10.5.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels LH Tyler Skaggs (1-1, 2.45 ERA) vs. Cubs LH Cole Hamels (1-0, 5.73)

After failing to get through five innings in his season debut at Oakland, Skaggs was strong last time out against Texas. The 27-year-old limited the Rangers to one run and five hits over 6 1/3 innings, striking out five and walking one. Skaggs faced the Cubs in 2013 but will pitch at Wrigley Field for the first time in his career.

Hamels had a tough time in his first outing of the season at Texas but bounced back with a quality start at Milwaukee on Saturday. The 35-year-old held the Brewers' potent offense to two runs and six hits while registering five strikeouts over six innings en route to his first win of 2019. Hamels is 4-2 with a 2.80 ERA in 11 career starts against the Angels.

The Cubs are 1-5 in their last 6 games following a win.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
