Where Can I Bet Major League Baseball Online From New York?

Major League Baseball is too often thought of as the "slow season" for bookmakers in the United States and those catering to the North American gambler in general.  That's not the case with New York area bookies and betting sites accessible here.

There are gamblers in this region who ONLY bet Baseball.

The Yankees attract plenty of bets each day, no matter how they are priced.  This included opening day against the Orioles where New York was coming in at -400.

New York, unlike its neighbor to the south, New Jersey, may not be as inclined to allow its state-licensed sportsbooks to accept bets online.  Those living in the Empire State will continue to rely on offshore betting sites.

Because New Jersey already offers betting apps from books based and licensed within its borders, the southeast portion of New York State, including Manhattan and it boroughs, have plenty of exposure to television and radio commercials promoting the likes of FanDuel and Draftkings.  This is almost certain to result in a higher demand for Major League Baseball betting.

The rationale for why Baseball betting is less popular than the likes of Football and Basketball is not very good.  There are no spreads in Major League Baseball.  One is wagering on the money line (outright winner).  While folks may be turned off laying $14 to win $10 on the Yankees, savvy sports bettors might consider this a good value.  You're still realizing a $10 profit assuming New York wins.  Better still, there are plenty of underdogs promising high reward vs. risk ratios.

If you like taking road trips, New York expects to have sportsbooks up and running by later in the 2019 MLB season.  There is less of a likelihood of expansive statewide mobile wagering however.

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
