As remarkable as this sounds, the Dallas Cowboys may face potential blackouts due to the failure to sell out the stadium.  Say what?

The Dallas Cowboys!  One of the most popular teams in the league with one of the biggest fan bases in the league.

The Giants/Dallas game, to be played this weekend, might not sell out and, as a result, the Dallas market will be unable to watch.

From CBS 11 Dallas:

As of 4 p.m. Wednesday, the only people guaranteed to watch this weekend's Dallas Cowboys home opener in North Texas are those with tickets to the game. The game hasn't sold out yet and if it doesn't by 7:15 pm Thursday it will be blacked out to the Dallas/Fort Worth television market.

The Cowboys are taking drastic steps to ensure there is no blackout.  One such step is to release 1,200 reserved seat tickets, and this isn't exactly sitting well with season ticket holders.

"I don't quite understand why there's tickets available without the PSL's if they are good seats. But I guess with the price they couldn't sell them all," one season ticket holder told the CBS news affiliate.

While the game hasn't sold out the Cowboys are expecting more than 100,000 fans. That's thanks to standing room only Party Passes which sell for $29.

To date, San Diego and Jacksonville have been the only NFL markets facing likely blackouts of games.

The Dallas Cowboys opened as a -3 favorite against the New York Giants and the line has not moved off that number anywhere including BetUS.com here
