New York Jets Odds to Win AFC East Pay Near $600
Considering how New England almost blew their home game against Buffalo Monday night while the New York Jets shined in Houston Sunday, the New York Jets odds to win the AFC East do hold tremendous value, paying $550 for every $100 bet at Sports Interaction if a division win does indeed come to fruition. Now these two teams will meet this coming Sunday and we will soon see what the season holds for both.
The Jets, of course, aren't expected to win. They are a +4 home underdog against New England.
Aided by a Buffalo fumble, the Patriots rallied in the final minutes of their Monday night game for a 25-24 win over the Bills. This was hardly the performance from New England anyone expected heading into this game.
The Bills were able to exploit the Patriots' young linebacker unit with a series of screens, draw plays and hitches. The Jets have the personnel with RBs Thomas Jones and Leon Washington along with TE Dustin Keller to do similar damage. This will provide Adalius Thomas (the only Pats linebacker with extensive starting experience) and Co. a stiff test.
In his first regular-season game, Mark Sanchez was sensational against the Texans. The rival Patriots will present a tougher challenge, but Sanchez will have the advantage of playing before a home crowd that has taken to the former USC star.
As far as this game goes, the home team is not necessarily favored in the trends as they have only gone 3-7 over the last 10 games in this series. The good news for the Jets is that they won their last game against New England, on the road no less. The four games prior to this one were blowouts courtesy of the Pats.
The Jets should play hard. Their schedule is brutal over the next couple of weeks with games against the Titans at home and road games in New Orleans and Miami.
