Bet The Players Championship From Ohio

Heading into The Players Championship 2019 the state of Ohio will not be operating sportsbooks within its own borders following a landmark decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that paves the way for all 50 states to offer sports betting.  For this year's event, those living in Ohio can access any number of top licensed international websites.

Ohio does plan to allow sportsbooks to operate in-state soon, just not in time for this year's Players Championship.

On July 12, 2018, a group of five Ohio state senators formally introduced a bill to "express the intent of the General Assembly to develop and enact legislation legalizing sports wagering." The one-page bill lacks specifics, but is a placeholder of sorts for Ohio to consider full-scale legislation at a later date.  Early on the discussion, some Ohio lawmakers had even suggested that sportsbooks could be available in bars and convenience stores.  This has since been deemed highly unlikely.
