While going against the public favorite alone does not guarantee winnings, Gambling911.com monitors other key factors to hone in on top plays.

Case in point, yesterday we realized a relatively strong edge with North Carolina playing against intrastate rival NC State.  Line moves were going against the action while Sagarin suggested the Tar Heels should win.  That allowed us to give the Tar Heels a 57% chance of covering the spread.

Early Wednesday afternoon, the 76ers were seeing heavy lopsided action as a -3.5 favorite after opening at -2.5.  This line was moving in conjuction with the action.  While the books were encouraging more action on the Wizards, this doesn't necessarily mean they believe Philadelphia will cover.  They simply do not have an opinion on this game.

Other NBA games were mostly balanced and College Basketball games were not seeing as much volume.

The most lopsided betting in College Basketball had 90% on Ohio State in their game against Rutgers.

This one opened at Buckeyes -6, moved up to -7 at some books, but has since been trending downwards.
