This is among the least friendly gambling states in the U.S. and does not have any casinos or race tracks.
That being said, 2023 marked a turning point perhaps. A proposal to legalize online sports betting was revived by a Georgia Senate committee back in March.
The Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee amended House Bill 237 to include the legalization of online betting that would begin in 2024. That's progress for a state that barely has any form of gambling.
Ultimately it failed, but the effort was a good one all things considered.
